"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

This time I was attacked by physics instead of gravity. I was pulling out a nail that was inexplicably stubborn, since I had only nailed it in about half an inch before I bent it. I did not sufficiently allow for the trajectory of the equal and opposite reaction. I have a bruise on my jaw and a dull headache.

Then I went to a Braves game that would have been lovely, in the sense that the weather was beautiful and the seats were good, except that the Braves threw it away with both hands.

This is the weekend of tributes to the retiring Bobby Cox, and I suspect the only tribute he wants is two wins. Unbeknownst to him, the grounds crew mowed and dyed his number, 6, into the field. His reported reaction: Oh, shit.

I'm admiring Kathy for her perseverance and courage. I don't think that's the right route for me, but I certainly need to be doing something. We'll be cheering you on, Kathy.

Also, yay for good Zmayhem news.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Sorry for stealing all the sleep the last couple of days. In all fairness, I did need it. Work this week left me sore and weary but I'm feeling more human now and only slightly sore in the muscles that I can't get to relax.

Thursday's 14 hour day ended with a very charming Frenchman asking if I would come to the show tonight.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Ugh, that sounds both so awful and so likely to happen when hammering.

Went to the Chinese bakery this morning for breakfast. Unfortunately the owner had not put out the signs, and so I think I picked up something that was flavored with bonito and horseradish. I dunno. Eating donut instead.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Woo hoo! I went to the Goodwill and dropped off two grocery bags of stuff, and came back with one skirt and one book. So maybe I didn't need yet another black and white tweed skirt, but $4.49! That place is HUGE, and pretty well organized. I should go back monthly to drop stuff. And then I grocery shopped, where many of the sale items I was planning on buying were sold out. So no roast chicken for me today.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hmm. I don't know where my grey socks are. I want those specific grey socks, dammit. This is messing with my erranding plans, which are suddenly really not involving taking my skirts to get altered.

So I was back from Target and TJs by noon and threw in some laundry. Once I popped it into the dryer, realized I had a headache and decided to lie down. Mister Kitty joined me, tucked up in my armpit and then Loki lay down on my torso. That was 90 minutes ago. Whoops. I totally passed out. Not sure how that happened.

Pool now.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I was idly looking at paper shredders at office supply stores. They are more expensive than I expected.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I have a cheap-ass shredder, and it's fine for home use. Even though I don't use it often! It's not cross-cut, so if you are really paranoid, you'd want better, but I think I paid like $15.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I would totally buy something cheap-ass, but no one seems to have them. They have moderate-ass, which is like $35 or $40.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I figure I'll be down to my goal weight by middle of 2013 or so.

BADASS!
