My pain threshold must be higher than I thought, because tattoos can get a little irritating toward the end, or when they're filling color, but screaming? Leaving?
I hope she's fully medicated for childbirth, if she ever goes through it.

Kathy, this is so exciting and I'm so proud of you - just navigating the process seems like a huge achievement.
What Brenda Said
Oh, ita. If a genii offered me three wishes, I'd spend one on making you well.
And What Ginger said
Yesterday I hit myself in the face with a hammer.
iYou guys, I have whacked the hell out of my forearm on a door handle connected to a super heavy door. I recommend not doing this at all, much less to the forearm connected to your dominant hand, and even less so to the muscle groups that control wrist movement and grip. In conclusion: OW.
And What shrift said (in her conclusion)
Very happy for the Matilda and family and for Kathy. Good news is awesome.
I had a nonstop 18-hour day yesterday and then didn't fall asleep until almost 2, so I was really looking forward to sleeping in. Unfortunately, ND had nasty insomnia and didn't fall asleep until almost 5, so I had to get up to feed pets at 7 and am wide freaking awake and cranky about it. If I had a pair of Jilli's crankypants I would so put them on. Too stubborn to get up and be productive, of course.
I saw that clip on Tosh.0. There was plenty of mocking there.
I want another tattoo soon. Skating with roller derby really makes you feel under-inked.
I need to do something with my day, but just ugh. It looks lovely and cool outside, so maybe Goodwill. It's a long-ish walk, so no need to do a thorough culling, just as much as I feel like carrying. And then I can start fall shopping there instead of Lord & Taylor!
I don't think I'll be able to shut up about it.
I hope you don't because the whole process is fascinating to me, Kathy. Modern medicine, man, amazing stuff. And you seem very on top of it all and in control, which is great.
Wishing you much horizontal hydration today, ita. Sorry that you need it, of course.
Had a good sleep last night. Made up a good chunk of the deficit. Made a little bit of progress cleaning the apartment, still a long way to go. My dining room table looks much worse that Steph's right now.
I think I need to go and buy a hand cart, so that I can haul stuff to recycling.
Vibing hard for everyone to feel better. Yay for Scola's sleep last night!!
I'm on break at class right now. Got soooo much homework to do this weekend, and a big paper to write for next week, dissecting MARC records (ugh). We were talking about searching for MARC entries in OCLC (where they are created for library catalogs), and I mentioned the idea of trying to find an antique book like the Macguffey Reader I have at home, which got the teacher interested. Now I have something to look up when I go home.

Oh yeah, seconding that.
Tom! Was so good to see you this week.
My NY trip turned out way more social than my usual travels. Monday night I had drinks with a guy from my old firm who is one of the few people I really miss from there. Good timing too, because it turns out he's moving to Toronto in a couple of weeks. Tuesday I got to hang out with Scola for a while. Wednesday I had an amazing, four hour dinner with one of my dearest (and favorite) family friends at Il Cantinori, and then on Thursday I met a current coworker for lunch at this vegan Indian buffet restaurant that was incredibly good.
Then I made the mistake of going to the airport early to try to get an earlier flight, but it turned out they'd had two flights cancelled earlier in the day so the stand-by list was like a hundred people. Shockingly, my original flight, the last one out of the night, was the only one that day to leave remotely on time though.
Now I'm home, have my dog back, and intend to not go anywhere for the next six months. Give or take.
Yesterday I hit myself in the face with a hammer.
