Kathy, that's great news! I'm so excited for you.

But 7 weeks' liquid diet? Unfun. Do you get to drink things like milk, or does it have to be clear liquids?
It's all high protein SlimFast or Myoplex lite. I can have raw veggies as well, so that's something. (I might fudge that a bit by clearing out my frozen veggies, though.)
Today was a co-workers' last day before maternity leave. Our boss is on vacation. Co-worker sent a status report on all her journals to everyone on the team. Why? Because no one has any idea who's going to be taking care of her work. Boss, who has apparently not even thought about it, will be back Monday, so this won't be addressed until at least Wednesday in our team meeting. She'll ask for volunteers, C. will point out wearily that everyone is already overworked and cannot possibly give sufficient attention to any more work, Boss will chastise us all for a lack of team spirit and then assign work randomly along with ridiculous deadlines.
Manager J. will throw you under the bus, M. will be driving the bus, B. will say, "What bus?", and my boss will declare the bus to be a helicopter. Big boss will tell you that you can find another bus if you don't like our bus, and Bigger boss will hold up everything for weeks obsessing over the color of the bus.
I flat refuse to work this weekend. I'm going back to bed.
Oh good, Kathy. That's easier to accommodate, esp with the raw veggies being OK. How exciting that it's all coming together.
And Kathy, congratulations on getting the surgery set up and the insurance to pay! Liquid diet? Urf.
Congrats to Hec and JZ!! I got a Casio keyboard out of my move to NC.
And yay Kathy on getting surgery approved!
My work week ended with an unpleasant run-in with an epically entitled individual, cc'd to my boss. I think she'll have my back. I am cooling off with a drink and a smoke on the porch.
Oh, Zenkitty, that sucks. And yet, sounds disturbingly familiar.
I'd combine your approach (not to think about it) with smonster's (a drink and a relaxing whatever on the porch).
Zen, you're totally invited over!!
I am cooling off with a drink and a smoke on the porch.
I'm going the same thing! But yours should come with an extra helping of "not my problem anymore. Bitch."
Congrats and good luck, Kathy! That's major.
