Rude!
Jessica, your Sam Sifton link went to an article about wind turbines.
Wrong Jess, but oops. I had other things to say about the turbines....
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I'm looking at the route I'll drive to go to my parents' for Thanksgiving. This looks like the most boring drive ever. 200 miles on Route 80, which, as wikipedia notes, [link] "does not serve any major cities in Pennsylvania, and serves mainly as a cross-state route on the Ohio-New York City corridor. Most of I-80's path across the state goes through hilly and mountainous terrain, with relatively flat areas playing home to the freeway toward the western tier of the state." I played around with Google Map a bit, and it looks like any more interesting route would add at least an hour to the drive. Blah.
Hil, the toll road is definitely boring, but much faster.
Hey, I-80 goes past the town I went to college in! Not "the most boring drive ever! I-80 through west Kansas and east Colorado, that's boring.
So I got a massage tonight at a place that bills itself as thereputic. I wasn't sure if I should tip or not! And I was paying with a groupon, so I never got out my wallet, saw a sales slip, etc. And it was my therapist checking me out, so I felt awkward asking. I think I'm going to have to call anonymously to check...
Ah, I-80, my Pennsylvania nemesis. How I loathe that stretch of road.

Do you mean I-70?
Cool, Gliese 581 is sort of the inspiration for my next novel and existing short story.
We're supposed to get an amount of rain in the next 24 hours that is almost half what my hometown gets in a year.
Made sure all the paper goods were off the floor in my basement where I sometimes get small puddles...
