Sometimes I miss having powers... Oh. Oh! I know what this is! This is peer pressure! Any second now you're gonna make me smoke tobacco and--and have drugs!

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'm just wondering how long before he gets caught publicly soliciting a male prostitute or entering/leaving a gay bar, or otherwise outing himself.

we should start a pool.

Maybe he slept with the guy once and is afraid that he'll get outed. He's setting up this insane campaign so that he can claim that they are trying to discredit him.

the student seems to be taking it very well.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

In the same car? Totally rude!

In the same car. All of them but me. I guess it's not unanimously rude when some people do it at a dinner table, but when everyone but one person in a car...hmmph.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Rude!

Jessica, your Sam Sifton link went to an article about wind turbines.

Wrong Jess, but oops. I had other things to say about the turbines....

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm looking at the route I'll drive to go to my parents' for Thanksgiving. This looks like the most boring drive ever. 200 miles on Route 80, which, as wikipedia notes, [link] "does not serve any major cities in Pennsylvania, and serves mainly as a cross-state route on the Ohio-New York City corridor. Most of I-80's path across the state goes through hilly and mountainous terrain, with relatively flat areas playing home to the freeway toward the western tier of the state." I played around with Google Map a bit, and it looks like any more interesting route would add at least an hour to the drive. Blah.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Hil, the toll road is definitely boring, but much faster.

Hey, I-80 goes past the town I went to college in! Not "the most boring drive ever! I-80 through west Kansas and east Colorado, that's boring.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I got a massage tonight at a place that bills itself as thereputic. I wasn't sure if I should tip or not! And I was paying with a groupon, so I never got out my wallet, saw a sales slip, etc. And it was my therapist checking me out, so I felt awkward asking. I think I'm going to have to call anonymously to check...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Ah, I-80, my Pennsylvania nemesis. How I loathe that stretch of road.
