"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yet... I can't even get a goddamn customer service job?!

I'm sorry Theo. I'm not having much luck in this market either. I know lots of people are struggling to find work, on this board too.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Word, Theo.

Speaking of annoying, how about websites that ask you to upload your resume, then you have to type in all your info ANYWAY?!

UGH.

Also, I wrote a (I think) kick-ass cover letter for 2 hours, and then the stupid website didn't even ask for a cover letter.

GRRRRRR.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

87° in the house. Which is a comfortable temperature for me to be awake in. We'll see how things are when I try and sleep.

I called the pharmacy in case, against all odds, my whining had suddenly changed office protocol with my doctor.

Of course not.

A spoon, a spoon, my kingdom for a spoon.

Theo, how utterly frustrating. I'm so sorry.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Erin, that sounds like my day when I applied for my current job.

Sorry, Theo, that sucks.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I've aged out of Unemployment Benefits, so I'm coasting on my dwindling savings until I find a job. Any job, really, at this point.

The ironic thing is, I'm a good employee who takes pride in doing a good job. Just what you should want to hire.

Yeah, and employers are looking for a cheap, not long term, way out, from the things I am hearing.

It isn't hot here, barely 72, but the humidity is like whoa (94%.) I wish I'd closed the house up this morning, but I didn't. Fans help, but I may turn the bedroom ac back on to sleep tonight. I don't like sticking to my sheets, no matter how cool.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Amazing how little I accomplished today. /not proud

Theo, perhaps you had more brain than they wanted? If you think for yourself it's seen as a drawback for some workplaces... Good luck finding something good!

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Aw, Theo, I'm sorry. That job would'a sucked, anyway!

ita, doesn't your dr. have an answering service or a cell phone number on their voice mail?

I am SO not one to abuse that kind of stuff, but were I you, I would totes be ringin' that bell.

Hell, gimme your doc's office and Ima do it for you.

Theo, that sucks, I'm sorry. I hope something comes through.

It's still pretty hot here, although cooling. I'm trying to decide if I should suck it up and just get a milkshake for dinner. I've lived around the corner from this burger place for a decade and never gone in, but they have milkshakes and it's kind of milkshake weather.
