Definitely not what I'd expect at a retirement community, megan.

Well, it is a retirement community on the edge of the Tenderloin, but still.

Things have definitely calmed down, but no one has been brought out yet.

I think the shots I heard were police shots, but there were a lot of them in succession (and I immediately ran into the bathroom just in case so I'm a bit fuzzy on what I heard).

ETA: And, the news cameras are here. The progression is fascinating.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

That's too too much excitement. A woman was shot to death after stabbing several cops a couple of blocks away on my street a month or two ago, and we got lots of news copters buzzing around overhead for the next several hours. Like they could actually see something beneath all the trees.

My recommendation for a red would be Ca' de Medici Lambrusco.

Stretcher and paramedics came out sans person and the 4 news cameras are set up outside the entrance. Perp walk perhaps?

Note: the elderly residents are just coming and going like this happens everyday.

ita, that woman sounded smart to me.

I wonder if you could hire some sort of part-time medical advocate to come with you on trips to the ER, so they could help with the negotiations when you're not at your best.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

My go-to red for the last several years has been Louis Jadot's Beaujolais Villages; it's about $12 nowadays (it held at $8 from about 1995 to 2004 *sob*).

It's not fancy, but it's consistently decent, if one is on a tight budget.

Best wine I ever had was an Amarone, don't know what kind, and for my 40th bday, damn sure I am going to spring for a bottle. It's at least $35 though, although I have seen half bottles of it.

According to the reporter below my window, they are not releasing any details but apparently 1 civilian and 1 officer are down.
