I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I did run, but it was at 8:30 and it wasn't too hot yet.

There's an 8:30 in the morning??? I kid. I'm just not functional for more than getting coffee at that time of day, usually.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

On Saturdays I usually run earlier than that, but I was on travel this week and really needed to sleep in.

If I don't run in the morning, I pretty much don't run. I used to not be able to run in the morning, but I've been doing it for four years now and I've mostly adjusted. At least once I've done it, I'm done and I can feel self-righteous all the rest of the day...

Which is the same for me, and when I had a day job, I could run at 6:30 am no problem. Well, with little problem. And now, NSM. Which is why I just put a whole bunch of cheesy Crunch videos on my Netflix queue, on the theory of "At Least It's Something".

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I've decided I prefer Central Florida humidity to NYC humidity as the former is much much cleaner humid air. The perpetual layer of sweat is far better than the perpetual layer of sweaty grime.

My ex once described walking in a NYC summer as like being breaded and deepfried.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

strawberry shortcake made with only-a-little-sweetened homemade biscuits, which you butter when they are just out of the oven, and top with strawberries that have been cut and tossed with sugar and left to bleed for a couple of hours. NOM.

This, but with whipped cream, is exactly what I was going to suggest.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I can do that. I have whipped cream.

...anyone have a favorite basic biscuit recipe?

information libertarian

And you say you're from New Orleans? (I make Joy of Cooking's Baking Powder Biscuits with a little added sugar. And don't butter then for shortcake.)

Art Crawl!!!

William Shatner and Chris McCarron both took part in the opening ceremonies of the WEG.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have both River Road cookbooks, which tell you how to make all sorts of stuff that respectable Baton Rouge housewives could make, including several questionable desserts. I suppose biscuits could be in there.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I made a squash quesadilla for dinner, using a sweet dumpling squash, gorgonzola, the last of the arugula, and some heirloom tomato.
