All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

"My Name Is Luka"

I thought it was a kid, but I may be conflating it with a Natalie Merchant song.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I thought Luka was a kid, too. Possibly influenced by the video? I don't remember.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Huh. I also assumed it was a teen-aged girl being beaten by one of her parents.

I'd thought a boy of around 7 or 8, for no particular reason. Is Luka used as a girl's name too?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wait, when is your flight? I thought it was at the end of next month.

It is. It will need to be cut again by then. I think I can be home by 9:30. I wonder what time the prime time shuttle would want to pick me up...it's international, but just Canada.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I think "my name is Luka, I live on the second floor" sounds like the kind of thing a kid says.

Oh, hells no. Shuttle wants to pick me up at 8:30. For a 12:00 flight. That's a lot of boring airport time. I would definitely be taking my laptop with, then.

And cutting my hair the day before.

I am so besides myself with excitement for a four day trip over a month from now. Hello. But I haven't seen her and her family in over two years. Plus, chance of bonus Colin. Over Halloween. Random party might happen.

Dinner out with krav friend went very well. Should have done it sooner, should do it more often, will do it again in a month or too.

I can be social.

Now let's see if I can be asleep...

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I am currently doing the backtrack math to see the latest I can get to the airport tomorrow and still not be stressed. Shuttles would not like me.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I've always thought of it as being about a boy too.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

From Wikipedia

On a 1987 Swedish television special, Vega said this about the song "Luka":

A few years ago, I used to see this group of children playing in front of my building, and there was one of them, whose name was Luka, who seemed a little bit distinctive from the other children. I always remembered his name, and I always remembered his face, and I didn't know much about him, but he just seemed set apart from these other children that I would see playing. And his character is what I based the song Luka on. In the song, the boy Luka is an abused child — in real life I don't think he was. I think he was just different.[8]

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Morning, all!

Jilli, I think you should go for the pink and black jacket!
