still view beets with suspicion

I'm trying to work up enthusiasm for the salmon and spinach I have in my fridge. I figure with some avocado and dressing and maybe ...something else (beets, apparently!)? It will be yummy. But somehow, I am not enthused. But if I don't eat the salmon today, I think it is no good.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

The Event may be too fraught for me. Advertising it as the love child of 24 and Lost tells me maybe I don't want to get involved with this bastard.

Where should discussion be?

Because books.

You may all have the beets allotted to me, with pleasure.

Fall TV is so stressful! Too much to watch! New faces! I'm all aflail.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Boston's segregation is so bad, just ugh. There's a note on the map here [link] that marks the city of Lynn, the only diverse place around. When my old job had a team of four girls from there, IIRC, they were each of a different ethnic background. Generally, the teams from various places were all one thing -- all black, all latina, whatever. The Lynn group was one Cambodian, one Hatian, one Latina (I forget from where), one African-American, I think.

On the food thing, when people ask if I have any food issues, I have started saying I eat anything, but I don't like eggplant, just in case! Because I figure, what the hell. No one has yet told me they were planning on serving eggplant....

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Am watching the Event. I really know nothing about it going in, so.

Dinner shall be RED!

Dinner's not the only thing.

information libertarian

It would be fascinating to get down to block by block level in those maps. The census data probably allow it - they chunk geographically pretty small. I know that both small southern cities I've lived in, it's micro-patches - still segregated in many ways, but in older urban neighborhoods at least, living really really close.
