"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I have a Keyblade against one wall and Mothra hanging from my ceiling fan

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

were you there when my husband gave a long-winded rundown of 80s WWF superstars to our patient waiter?

Trying not to die laughing...because the waiter liked your husband's wrestling more than he liked my Wonder Woman, and because your husband knows everything past and present.

my BiL has a collection of orcs and knives

Ooh, what kind of orcs? Uruk Hai? Lurtz? He's HOT.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Ooh, what kind of orcs? Uruk Hai? Lurtz? He's HOT.

Not like I looked too closely, but he used to carve and sell little fantasy figurines as a teenager. Too bad he's him, because you two have a lot of subject overlap. Anyhoo, I'll keep my nerd glasses on. I know lots of them.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am tangentially geek adjacent and because of the stuff I have picked up, the non-you people in my life mistakenly think I am a geek in the sci-fi fantasy vein.

brillig

There was an LJ quiz a while back to find out how geeky/nerdy you are, and I came up as 50% nerd. The description of this said "You are invaluable, because you can translate between nerds and management. 'Tell the computer geeks we need to make the system faster.' 'The captain says we need more speed from the engines.' 'Och, the dilithium crystals canna take it!' 'He says they need better servers.'"

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I have a VERTEBRA in a shadow box hanging on the wall

You saw the photos of my ex's apartment, right? This seems quite normal to me.

I don't think I have a lot of visible geek going on. I'm a stealth geek.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I just spent half an hour at Geek 2 Geek and I'm very excited - the people there seem like my people!

If nothing else, it looks like a fun place, what with all the clever people and their clever ads.

Damnit, missed FNL again! But for a good cause. Neighbor had her sisters and a friend over and they were dudding up for the local Love (Hate?) the 80s night, so beer and pizza and a whole lot of laughing. One year I'll go, but I have enough this weekend. Anyway, their outfits were AWESOME. And their hair was high and crimped.

Watching the sisters interact was funny. Actually, they all were, the friend was a high school friend (they are all locals.) It's a family of 6 girls.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Does anyone else think that it's a little ominous or something that the two hosts of the National Memorial Day Concert are Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna? They are fake cops, not even fake military! I mean, currently.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I found a charming geek, on the Internet! YOU CAN TOO! You're much hotter than I.

And I am possibly clinically crxy!

I was excited my therapist gave me HOMEWORK today. I got THERAPY WORKSHEETS and was genuinely happy.

And cited specifically titled Buffy episodes on said worksheets as depression cycle behavioral distractors.

And they were "The Body" and "OMWF."

That's fucked up. Those episodes CHEER me up.

To wit -- dude: if I ain't dyin' alone, et by cats, no one is.
