I've gotten my cat to finally shut up by realizing that I hadn't fed her yet tonight (getting home in mid-afternoon will do that to my schedule). Turns out her food dish still had a goodly portion of kibble left, but she was being bitchy since it wasn't fresh crunchies. She can be such a diva!

I had a bad night last night, as my 8-months-pregnant assistant went in for a check-up yesterday and they informed her that her body was stressed and she had to have the baby RIGHT AWAY, even though it was underweight. It was supposed to be her first day training of her replacement, who I started training and tried very hard to be welcoming to, despite having a huge headache due to worry.

Finally heard this morning--Maggie Maureen was born at 6:30am. She is a tiny 3 lbs 11 oz and will be in NICU for a few weeks. The upside is that she is very healthy--she is breathing and eating like a champ. So all looks well.

Aw, that's scary, Scrappy! I'm glad mom and baby are doing well. And Maggie Maureen! What a sweet name.

Mister Kitty is remarkably perkier with antibiotics on board. As in, perkier than he's been in months. His fur is even in better shape. Afraid he may have been battling infection for some time. Afraid of what happens when the antibiotics wear out. Maybe I can keep him on them for as long as they keep working & he's perky?

Glad they are doing okay Scrappy.

Wow, Scrappy! Sorry for the stress, but good news everyone is OK now.

Thanks to you people, I just remembered to put some chicken in the broiler -- I put it frozen in marinade in the fridge last night, but just got home from choir practice/trip meeting. Phew!

Relatedly, I just got an email that I could usher at a play last night that I want to see, but I already just want to come home after work and go to bed. Ah well. I put myself on the wait list, I guess I have to do it.

Also very glad that Mister Kitty is improving. Hopefully the anti-b will kill the infection totally and he'll reperkified.

Yeah, if the dive across the street had started drawing in smoking hot soldiers in uniform two years ago, I'd have done a lot less grumbling about the bike noise and drunken frat boys.
