ITA.

Oh man. I'm TIRED. I've been teaching a course at UCLA to high school kids (Writing Before College) this week and I'll teach it next too. I am exhausted and it's only 4 hours of teaching. How am I going to survive the next school year?

Driving would be 5 hours estimated vs 3 door to door, so yeah. The thing that gives me pause, and is (I am sure) the reason dad even dithered for a moment until we shoved him over the cliff, is that maybe she'd rather have more time with the people she's closely shared her life with over the years, not have the prodigal relatives who have loved her but not kept close eating that up. But you know what? That's her call. And I'll let her make it.

eta: this dying shit SUCKS.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

But you know what? That's her call. And I'll let her make it.

Wise, sarameg, wise. And dying is hard to navigate for everyone around it. So be easy on yourself too.

Oh, Cass you made me cry, I'm fragile at weird times.

Lord, I can't imagine how to say, yeah, don't come up weds, I'm still dying, but my best friend is coming into town. And I don't want to put Carol in that spot. OTOH, she hugged me upon greeting and leaving like she never wanted to let go. Which I guess...she doesn't. I wouldn't.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Trying to re-acclimate at b.org. Read the entire day's Natter but of course there are still tons of things I don't know. Treat me like an amnesiac...my memory's that bad anyway.

The short version of things is that after 25 or so years living in the SF Bay Area, disability/finances have forced me to move back in with my parents in South Pasadena. I'm still neck-deep in moving boxes and going through some of the most severe culture shock I've ever experienced. Still, there are good sides to it as well. There's a swimming pool so I can add that to my physical therapy. I'm getting to know some of my younger siblings better again.

I hope to dive back in to b.org, meet folks in the LA area, make new friends, concentrate on my music/art, etc. I sold my car 2 years ago so I'm mostly on foot/bike. Blew my knee out in June so I'm being cautious about even that for now.

South Pasadena is showing "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" as a free outdoor movie this Saturday at 8pm so if some folks want to get together for a little evening picnic that would be cool.

Hello again, Buffistae.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Good to see you again, Spidra! I'm sorry about the rough circs leading up to the move, but I hope it's a good restart for you in LA.

Spidra, it's nice to see you. Movies are a no go in our world, but we do go to South Pas frequently, mainly for the Farmers Market on Thursdays. Though not tomorrow, most likely.
