I could have gotten there a few minutes before and gotten in. It was weird. I walked into the previous panel, so I had a pretty good seat.

I don't know. I get upset when people say crap like that, knowing (or rather wrongly thinking) they're amongst people who think like they do. And everyone's smiling smugly to themselves, because hey, we all know it's true.

Of course I know it's also kicking a hornet's nest.

I made a dinner which was so delicious, I ate too much of it! Meatballs with the Turkish meatball seasoning I bought there (it just says "Meatball seasoning" so I don't actually know what it is), tzatziki, and rice. If I had thought of the meatballs ahead of time, I would have put mint instead of dill into the cucumber salad, which would have been more Turkish and less Greek, but oh well.

Q: Could ita have dressed more like a schoolgirl today?
A: Yes. She could have worn knee socks and mary janes.

Q: Did ita realise she was dressed like a schoolgirl?
A: No.

Q: Would ita wear her prep school uniform socially if she could find it again?

My friend just had a pool put in, and she invited me over for swimming and BBQ yesterday, and it was so. much. fun. I love pools. I even braved bathing suit shopping in July for it. Found one at Torrid of all places - I'd never been in there before, because I'm well above the age of the target demographic, but there were quite a few things that I liked and would not look ridiculous on a woman of a certain age. Huh. Love the bathing suit - and it was only $30 (50% off markdown price) - score!

I had a short black plaid pleated skirt I used to wear with mary jane-type shoes at work back in ... 1994? 1995? And I loved the outfit, but then a guy at work who was semi-creepy made a bunch of remarks about Catholic schoolgirls and fantasies and I never wanted to wear it again, there or elsewhere.

Spinach empanada for dinner. And a fauxshake.

Despite my travel tomorrow essentially not being that much different a schedule than a normal day (I just have to get up earlier) and not really needing to pack anything, I am in travel tizzy. And Weds I'm having a carpenter come out to give me advice on my doors/see if she can manage it. And Thurs, I have someone from [link] to pick up my old Nat'l Geographics and assorted magazines. But I have to figure out which box they are in.

There are a lot of people who want old magazines! I had a bunch of lady magazines I put on the craigslist free section, and the woman who picked them up was going to send them to soldiers! Not to mention artists, art programs, etc.

From last night alone (no bites before this) I have over 40 bug bites! They are all below the waist, too. This happened last summer, but not this summer up to this point. What is eating me? Do I need a mosquito net? And for the love of God, could I just stop itching?!?
