What weather in Denver? It is beautiful sunshine. I guess it is kinda windy here, so it could be worse out by the airport.

They're telling us Denver is down to one runway.
Suzi, it's the wind. It makes taking off and landing very dangerous, especially in the valley where the airport is. The FAA reduced flight volume earlier, but the threat of wind shear is still there.
Flying over the Rockies as you approach the airport is bumpy on a good day. Today, it can be downright dangerous.
t /DH is a pilot and I've absorbed a lot through osmosis
t /flies a LOT for work too
Very strong, wet, snowy storm rolled through today.
Gotcha.
Made through the day on Ibuprofen. Woot!
YAY!!!! Glad to hear you're healing nicely.
Vicodin and I will still be sleeping together.
My understanding of a lot of the passenger protection rules regarding flights is that they don't apply if the delays are due to weather.
Yeah, my sister has gotten screwed over a few times by blizzards getting her stuck in connecting cities: back in the mid-90s, she had to stay in Denver for two days while Seattle dug itself out of back-to-back 15" storms, and then several years ago, she got stuck in Philly while flying back from Italy during the President's Day blizzard. Mom lives only 45 minutes from the Philly airport, but sis couldn't get out to her house until two days after she flew in, and couldn't get a flight back to Seattle until two days after that.
ND, some do and some don't. It depends upon the carrier, and sometimes you can get a decent gate or ticket agent that ends up helping you out. There's more flexibility with rerouting due to weather than there is in getting hotel or meal vouchers. Those are expressly forbidden in most contracts of carriage.
