Nope. It's certainly a shock given what you expect

My mom doesn't get into new music and has had the same haircut for as long as I can remember, but she's in love with life and one of the most open minded people I know. I do wish I could talk her into playing with a different hairstyle, but she's pretty set in that regard. Like Trudy said, she just feels comfortable with the cut.
Change can also be bad. My mother had a terrible perm in like 1992. She'd always wanted curly hair... she looked like a poodle.
She looks like a different person.
I think a lot of people who you think of as having the same hair style for years and years actually have slight variations that keep it looking less dated. Then there are the people like the lady in my office with the enormous, roller-set helmet hair where you can't even imagine where they find someone who can (or would) even cut it like that anymore.

For the past fifteen years or so, I've had some variation of a bob with a side part, but the length, angle, etc. have changed over the years or even within one year. Right now, I've got it high up on the back of the neck, mid-ear length on one side, and chin length on the other.
I think bobs are one of the classic cuts, though. They're always in style.

It's my one true cut.
This is the best pic I could find of the kind of hair people try to give me: [link]
I was shopping for bandaids on drugstore.com and I think I found a cock ring: [link]

Exactly. The precise cut people do differs from year to year, so even though it's the same basic style, it still looks fresh. That's different than the people who walk past and you go "what's up, 1974?"
I also found the following googling mom hair, and now I want it: [link] Except for the fact that the swoopy piece would drive me crazy and end up behind my ear.
For me, mom hair is poofy, semi-permed, and styled Like my mom used to wear her hair if she went to the hairdresser. Now she has just grown her hair long and wears braids, which I like.
