Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Plei, thanks! The European sizing threw me; I always end up with shoes too short when they're sized that way. I'm thinking of getting the Dylan sneaker. Do you have any words of wisdom on that one?

Haven't tried it! I've got the Lucy, the Odette, the Yukam, and the Womad.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Make a secret compartment book?

Cutting up books makes me twitch. It is possible I could bear to cut up a Readers' Digest Condensed Book or the Left Behind series.

hip deep in pie

I have no CSA, but I have lettuce, basil, and some peas form my own garden, and cuke, spinach, carrots, mushrooms and strawberries from the farmer's market at the hospital by work. My kettuce was just beginning to bolt. I hope it's not too bitter yet.

I feel the same way, but I have lots of outdated textbooks.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett and I discovered that he had a Best Buy gift card leftover from xmas that had never been used, so we planned to spend it today.

Since the Best Buy south of Market has a great taco truck, that's where we went for lunch.

Emmett had never had Taco Truck tacos so he was blown away by their tastiness.

The Best Buy smelled of some horrible combination of melted plastic and industrial cleaner. So we perused briefly but could not find the Avatar S3 or Teen Titans S3 we were seeking. He settled for Forgetting Sara Marshall. But we asked a staffperson to look it up and they said they had copies of the Avatar season at the Colma store.

We looked it up on Emmett's iPhone and hit the freeway. It was only 15 minutes away and we scored our DVDs. Driving back through Colma though we spotted the entrance to Woodlawn Cemetary and I decided we should go in.

Emmett was dubious.

But once we got up into it he was really intrigued by all the tombstones and dates and implied stories. Even if Some of the stories were heartbreaking.

On the way out, we stumbled across this Very Famous Person's tombstone completely by accident. Cool!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My family often enjoys a trip to the cemetary. Ooh, I should suggest that for a grandmotherly outing soon.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Ok, CSA share items identified. Huge variety this week compared to the first 4 weeks...

Baby greens, kale, green leaf lettuce, chard, radishes, bunch beets, green onions, snow peas, garlic scapes, summer squash and zucchini.

Noms galore!

Oh, I meant to add that with all the shopping I did this afternoon, the only bags that were used were my reusable TJ's bags. Beauty Secrets, Blockbuster, Costco and my CSA pickup. Woot.

When I was living in a trailer park in Oregon (about age 5) we lived near a graveyard that had apple trees in it. I'd go there with an older boy (age 9) and we'd climb the trees and eat green apples in the graveyard.

Best name seen today: Valdemer Jorgensson! A mighty Viking name.
