"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

well, it was just the one garage sale open at 6:30. Anyhoo, we weren't there at 6:30, not until closer to 8. It is 9:40 now and we have been to three sales and stopped for a break at grandma and grandad's.

You need to get my husband to take you garage sale-ing. He is, no lie, the KING of garage sales.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did not like salad until I was an adult. I still don't like raw (or even intact cooked) tomatoes. I even tried one...maybe a year ago? Not a fan.

Well, my CSA this week should be salad-tastic, with lettuce and tomatoes and I forget what. I also plan to make ground beef and green beans and rice with soy sauce. I'm not sure why that is what I need to do with the green beans, but it totally is.

One of the cops told us he has been banned from the County by a judge, which is generally not a good sign. Also, he seems to have VOLUNTEERED this fact to them.

Crime makes you stupid.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I am Mr. Grumpypants today.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Halloween in NO is fun times and the craziness level is easy to regulate by slight shifts in location, IME. And the weather is usually nice, maybe warm and sticky, maybe a bit chilly, but probably not extreme either way.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We got an email from our CSA this morning saying that the heavy rains and hot temps probably meant no more lettuce this year. So sad!

I would be happy about that! I have little to no interest in lettuce.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

We dug ours out in the church garden (the kids have a garden they tend during the summer, and sell the produce after church.) After a couple of weeks of "it's okay, so long as you use a sweet dressing," it just got too bitter to eat.
