Wow, you've really mastered the power of positive giving-up.

I love "natural" spelling. (Less when it comes from my 41 year old husband.)

So, we're having an unusual morning at work! A guy came to the desk, wearing a t-shirt that said Department of Corrections, and asked to be let back on to a computer he'd been locked out of and didn't have the login for. He'd gotten a student to log in for him, since he "just got out of jail last night," and he needed to get in touch woth a woman who has no phone and he doesn't know when she'll be online. Public libraries deal with this kind of thing all the time, but we're in the center of campus and have a pretty limited guest policy. So now the police are having a little chat with the guy.

I can't believe they don't release you from jail in a PLAIN t-shirt. And at least give you contacts for some transition-to-regular-life agencies. This is GA, though.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I can't believe they don't release you from jail in a PLAIN t-shirt.

My cynical side says maybe he wasn't released...

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

he "just got out of jail last night," and he needed to get in touch woth a woman who has no phone and he doesn't know when she'll be online.

This would give me a raised eyebrow.

So today is favorite cousin's birthday, and I can't go down to New Orleans to play. This is the woman I once drove from Dallas to D.C. to go to her party and then drive back for.

Fooey.

Also, I don't think all the coffee in the world can rid me of this gronk.

hip deep in pie

I have no real plans. I may go to a gov't surplus auction and look at some barristers bookcases. I just don't know how I would get them home.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Shef mommy wen you git hom ples mak bsgety fram Emeline to mommy.

What I hate about the electronic age is that there's no easy way to save text messages forever and ever, like there is when your kid leaves you a note on your lunchbag, or the electric bill.

Because that text is a thing of beauty, truly. (I love "Shef mommy" the most.)

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Daisy! And Dana and Nora and anyone else. I'm noodling around some halloween plans since it looks like Brazil might be off the table. (I also turn 40 that week.)

Tell me about Halloween in NO, please? Good/bad/way over my head?
