I am still debating gay marriage with an acquaintance's high school teacher (oh fb). It's very civil, which is refreshing, but his argument so far seems to be - there are other ways for gay couples to get those rights. I made an analogy about being told to go to a thousand stores hundreds of miles apart instead of one store where other people get to shop, we'll see what he says.
Anyway, that's all great, but now it's after 7:30 and I haven't had dinner and I don't have much I can cook and really oughtn't go out even if I had the energy, which I don't. Clearly I need a cabana boy personal assistant paid a living wage and bennies to make me food whilst I debate on the innernets. Woe, I do not has.
What do you have? We can play innernets iron chef, given your sad lack of cabana boy.
Shell peas are ripe when the pods are fat. You want them filled out, but not burstingly fat - the peas are sweeter when they are just-ripe, and get starchier the longer they are on the vine. I find I need to pick every other day to get them at their best.
I was going to say, then I can give ita goats...steaks.
I've had goat, but I wasn't all nom. I would like to try some kid, though. Methinks my goat was a tough urban goat.
I have: eggs, broccoli, probably eggplant in the garden, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, frozen chicken breasts, frozen lamb chops, pasta but not sauce, a shit ton of frozen cooked rice...
Wait! Maybe broccoli fried rice? What else should go in it?
eta I also have soy sauce and fresh basil.
smonster, thread-jumping to say that if you want to come over and watch the White Collar special features and get A Grill on the way instead of cooking, I'll gladly watch them a hundred or so more times before bed. Up to you. I've already eaten.
But cooking is good, too!
Wait! Maybe broccoli fried rice? What else should go in it?
I just made fried rice the other day. I put mushrooms, spinach, red bell pepper and tofu in it. It was goooood.
Incidentally, smonster, I've had a Waste Question I've been meaning to ask you.
When I blow my nose in the bathroom I've taken to throwing the used tissue into the toilet to be flushed at some later time, rather than into the bathroom trashcan. Is waste taken out through the sewers more or less green/efficient than through the trash?
Thanks. I just picked a big handfull. They are sweet and tasty, but I think I'll save most of them for tomorrow.
Fresh basil? Pasta, mixed with sizzled garlic in olive oil, some steamed broc, basil and mozz. Nom. Salt and pepper, a little lemon juice, if you have it.
Hec, did JZ tell you that Matilda was very particular about her smoothie on Sunday and that she laid out a few rules about how her dad makes her smoothies to perfection? Matilda takes two bananas and will have no chunks whatsoever, thankyouverymuch!
