My family abandoned me for the day -- Ben has a double header and I was not up for sitting in a middle school field from 10 to 5.
That was our day. All four of us left the house at 9am and drove JZ and Matilda to church. Emmett and I drove around the block until the end of the Harry Potter chapter than chilled at a cafe. Picked them up after church and went to a
different
cafe so JZ and Matilda could have some food. Also to kill more time before Emmett's noon warmups.
I pitched batting practice in the cage and even though I was using a screen I got nailed in the right shoulder by a screaming line drive and now I've got a contusion there that's all the colors of the rainbow.
Gametime: JZ's dad came and took them off for lunch. Emmett's godmother swung for to chitchat. We won two hours later. Then JZ headed home by BART and Matilda and I are chilling at EM's house while Emmett umpires a 5:30 game. They're eating chips and chatting. We get to collect Emmett at 7:30 to return home.
In sum: Wow, does my shoulder hurt.
It's in a pie crust is why I think this is called a pie. It's super easy and no bake.
1 package of cream cheese softened, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1/2 cup lemon juice, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 can cherry pie filling, 1 graham cracker pie crust.
Whip the cream cheese until a bit fluffy, mix in the sweet milk well, then lemon juice and vanilla. pour that into the pie crust and chill in the fridge for 2 hours. spoon the cherry pie filling on top and chill again until serving.
Oh, I meant cheesecake pie, which was what msbelle said. I need to be Typo Girl.
Huh. Still never heard of it.
Nom, msbelle.
Back from Charlotte. P's wife who I stayed with is totally awesome, had a great time. I haven't unpacked the car yet, which I am totally blaming on tonight's thunderstorms. Now to prep for tomorrow and hit the sack.
My childhood best friend's mother always made the mini cheesecakes on Nilla wafers for functions. OMG NOM.
I sent the vet before and tonight pictures, and she's calling the swelling reduced. Holding pattern now, since the antibiotics are a 2 week duration.
And then, as I was emailing the vet in answer to a question of hers, he went and ate some of Loki's dry food.
He's going to make me insane.
Yay dry food! Go Mr. Kitty, Go!
You have a great vet-- how kind of her to look at pictures on her "weekend".
I can't speak more highly of Mt. Washington's Village Vet. The whole practice has been nothing but awesome.
I'm still pretty sure it is tooth issues, which are bad, but it buys time. We can try anti-bs until they don't work.
I hope Mister Kitty is okay, sara.
Had a big barbeque yesterday for the visiting boyfriend. Was a lot of fun, 20 people inc. adults and toddlers. Highlight as usual was seeing friends connect with other friends, finally getting to visit with my cool next door neighbors, and seeing 3 year old Tristan (boy) and 5.5 year old Sloane (girl) play together awesomely and non-stop.
The only bad thing is that Steve does not take me seriously when I say no human food for my dogs. So today, we spent the afternoon at the E.R. for Chile Pepper, who yelped at sitting/getting touched anywhere near her abdomen starting around Noon. She tore herself out of 2 muzzles, so had to be sedated for the x-ray. No obstruction, thank goodness. So home with heavy meds and monitoring. She is funny doped up. What isn't funny is that amount of the vet bill. I am pretty pissed but I really hope that having the VET tell Steve that no, giving dogs human food, is NOT cute and it's not okay and that he'll finally fucking stop. I am trying not to be too pissed, because he leaves tomorrow night. Maybe if he went into the kitchen and cleaned the 1/6 of the party mess (just the wine/drink glasses) that I left for him to clean, my mood would improve.
Or, you know, thank me for throwing him a huge, expensive barbeque.
Yeah, I am bitter. I also don't get to watch Lost until tomorrow night, after he's on the plane back to Boston. POOP.
Yay mister Kitty, keep getting better!
Poor Chile.
