Natter 66: Get Your Kicks.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I hope Mister Kitty is okay, sara.
Had a big barbeque yesterday for the visiting boyfriend. Was a lot of fun, 20 people inc. adults and toddlers. Highlight as usual was seeing friends connect with other friends, finally getting to visit with my cool next door neighbors, and seeing 3 year old Tristan (boy) and 5.5 year old Sloane (girl) play together awesomely and non-stop.
The only bad thing is that Steve does not take me seriously when I say no human food for my dogs. So today, we spent the afternoon at the E.R. for Chile Pepper, who yelped at sitting/getting touched anywhere near her abdomen starting around Noon. She tore herself out of 2 muzzles, so had to be sedated for the x-ray. No obstruction, thank goodness. So home with heavy meds and monitoring. She is funny doped up. What isn't funny is that amount of the vet bill. I am pretty pissed but I really hope that having the VET tell Steve that no, giving dogs human food, is NOT cute and it's not okay and that he'll finally fucking stop. I am trying not to be too pissed, because he leaves tomorrow night. Maybe if he went into the kitchen and cleaned the 1/6 of the party mess (just the wine/drink glasses) that I left for him to clean, my mood would improve.
Or, you know, thank me for throwing him a huge, expensive barbeque.
Yeah, I am bitter. I also don't get to watch Lost until tomorrow night, after he's on the plane back to Boston. POOP.
Yay mister Kitty, keep getting better!
Poor Chile.
Glad for some good news, sarameg. I hope the antibiotics do their thing.
Timers ftw. I set mine for fifteen minutes and got my stuff from the weekend unpacked and put away. So I have a clear bed to sleep in. Frankie, otoh, is back sleeping in his crate after a weekend of being with me and is not happy about it. Poor pup.
Oh, javachik, that is so not cool. Did he even offer to pay the bill? And he didn't thank you or help clean up? ::gives S the stinkeye:: You best shape up and appreciate what you've got, mister.
I was expecting to possibly lose MK tomorrow. Now I'm not. Cat makes me crazy.
Nope, he did not offer - though when I made a comment to the effect of "I better see which credit card can take a huge hit if she needs surgery" and then went to check online status of my emergency card, he said "if you can't, I can."
I MOPPED before I went to bed last night, and thought he'd jump in and clean the glasses. I don't want to fight about it, but the more time that goes by, the more annoyed I am.
Oh my ever-loving. Java. What?!
I give my dog human food, but what I mean is I give my dog human food. No body else. I make the speech ever time he is with me during a food event.
If someone who supposedly cared about me took it upon him/herself to defy my wishes in this way...ESPECIALLY in a way that put my dog at risk? AND cost me money? Well, I don't know. I would not be responsible for my actions. And, by actions, I mean violence.
Seriously. I'm boiling for you right now. BOILING.
And that's before the rude, ungrateful, insensitive behavior.
Criminey. How awful for you.
I'm glad to hear MK is doing a bit better, sarameg, and sorry javachik to hear about Chile.
I REALLY couldn't go out in public (except pool- I don't give a shit )today. My face was that bad. It's funny, even without today's vet news, yesterday was so bad. And it wasn't just me and my eyeorism, it just was what it was. Today? Denial and a reprieve.
Poor Chile Pepper.
I do feed my kitty people food, or rather, she seems to enjoy eating off my plate. Tonight I made tuna patties, and she was all "om, nom, nom, nom."
Somehow I forgot to mention this really funny, yet embarrassing story that happened to me last week. This is why staying in the same town forever is perhaps not the best idea.
Background: When I was a freshman in college, I was greeted one day in the frst semester with all my stuff moved to another room. My room mate wanted to move in with her BF, and thought we would trade rooms. Which was fine, but they moved all my stuff AND I had to tell the room mate. Who then spent all of her time sleeping in her boyfriends car. We had the weird mediation, where my roomate said I was too uptight, and I was counseled to be more accepting, although it was she who MOVED MY STUFF to another room. I later moved home.
So, the other day a woman was knocking on the door across from mine, and I let her know that the person n that office wasn't in. We started talking, and after all the "gee, you look familiar", we realize we had gone to the same college. And then she starts telling this story about her room mate, who just left her and moved this other girl in, and I realized that she was the girl who spent her nights in the boyfriends car!!!! I just wanted to duck under the table and hide! She did end up marrying him, though, and is a social working getting her PhD in nursing. And she definitely felt bad about the situation, and we blamed our horrible room mates. Talk about weird, though.
