I'm sorry, dad. You know I would never have tried to save River's life if I had known there was a dinner party at risk.

I dunno, but thank god for our vet. They close at 3, and I discovered MK's puffy face at 2:15. They told me to come right in. Dr. Lee gave me her cell number and told me not to hesitate to call if things took a turn before Monday, and she'd tell me what to do. Two of the techs (Kendall and Amy? Short, cheery blond) who've always loved on MK stopped by to say hello.

I'm preparing for the worst. And using a lot of kleenex. Fact that I got sunburnt at the yard sale (I tried to stay in the shade) isn't helping. It stings.

If it is an infection (probably tooth/root,) it's really unlikely he'll make it through any effective form of treatment. And damnit, I have always known this was coming, but I was expecting a side effect of the diabetes (kidney failure, pancreatic whatever, his heart) not a goddamn facial infection out of the blue.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Vibing hard for Mr. Kitty and sara--get better, MK!!!

Happy birthday, Javacat!!

I just had dinner delivered. They stiffed me on the french fries, but that's okay. I'll just remind them of that the next time I order from them.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Mr. Kitty~ma, sara. Come on, kitty, get better!

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh, sarameg. I have you and MK in my thoughts. It's so hard with older pets.

My parents lost their oldest Golden yesterday morning. Kittenish is now the oldest family pet and I've spent a lot of yesterday and today just petting her.

Punishingly Intricate

I'll be around tomorrow, sara, if you need anything.

sarameg - May 22, 2010 5:21:33 pm PDT #1166 of 30001

Thanks, lisah. I'm pretty much going to try to go about the day as normal, perhaps with extra annoying snuggles and a little bit more brutality on myself around the lake and in the pool. And cleaning the fucking house. Don't think I'm up to Yard Sale pt.2.

Talked to the parents. Decided I didn't want to spend all of my usual weekly call in tears, get the worst over tonight. There'll still be more tomorrow, but...I aired my worst predictions. So.

Think I'll be telecommuting a good part of monday. I expect I'll be taking him in for a full workup in the morning, and after the verdict? I don't think I need to be seen in public. Maybe I'm catastrophizing, but this time? Unless that swelling goes down overnight, it's pretty clear. Hate this.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am so sorry, Sara.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm so sorry Sara. Sending all thoughts for a better outcome.

Oh sara, I hope Mr. Kitty surprises you and is okay.

Had Noah's first swimming lesson of the year today. The pool was so wonderful and warm and he is READY to swim now.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, sara, so hard.

Yay for Noah swimming!
