Because books.

Oh, I know, Daisy. I just don't like any shoe that I have to put my whole foot in unless it's 30 degrees and snowing, usually.

I hope your mom's okay, Erin. Much ~ma for her.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Vibing hard for your mom, Erin!

And, CRAP. I just missed a doctor's appointment, which I remembered because of Erin's post. I had it on my calender, even, but my boss called me at 9:15am flapping about this goddamned journal that I can't wait to finally be done with, how the covers are all wrongity wrong wrong - where did the incorrect masthead come from? I don't know, someone changed it, but who? why? when? fuck it, just fix it - and she rattled my brains, as she does so well, so all I could think about was fixing this mess, and what should have taken 15 minutes has taken three fucking hours because the software will not cooperate, and holy crap, I want to bang my head on the floor. So now I'm probably going to have to pay for the visit I missed, which just double sucks.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe if I worked anywhere with a dress code. Our office's dress code is that you have to be wearing clothes.

Yeah, me too.

And I have hobbit feet! I have two pair of them. When I'm not wearing hobbit feet (which I mostly save for times when I'll be doing a lot of walking), I wear the Vivo Barefoots. Except for right now, when I'm wearing super cheap close-out section flip flops from Target. (I have two pair of those. They meet my minimalist footwear needs, and were under $1.25 each.)

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

So, apparently my mom DID have a couple of ministrokes in the past.

She is just waiting for results to come back from this morning's MRI to see what's what...and is biting at the walls to get out of the hospital. Not only do I hope she is released today because the tests come back ok, but also because of the poor staff -- hospitals ma...ke her batshit crazy-anxious

Woe to the fucking wicked.

health-ma to your mom, Erin.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Erin - the MRI will show dead spots in her brain, which is what you get from a stroke. Best to catch it now rather than leave it go - ending up "DED" as your sister put it is bad; what's worse (IMHO) is ending up with paralysis, aphasia, all the other goodies that a stroke can leave you with.

My father had a series of little strokes that left him with uncertain balance, slurred speech, memory problems ... all of which went undetected because (1) he refused to see a doctor for much of anything and (2) he was an alcoholic and the symptoms were pretty much what he was like when drunk ... only not as nasty.

I had two strokes four years ago and was phenomenally lucky - I walked away from them at about 95% of what I was before and, after six months, at about 99%. These days I watch my blood pressure, take a blood thinner, and am grateful.

Toddson, we are grateful too.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

What the Kitty of Zen said.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Mom~ma to Erin.

Ok, I know I am obsessed, but my coworker also told me that Johannes Mehserle (who shot Oscar Grant) was not born in America (but was now a citizen). I cannot find that confirmed or denied anywhere (all I can see was that he was raised from the age of 4 in CA).
