lisah - no I haven't, but thanks for the heads-up. Huh, it's Friday, isn't it? Hmm...

Punishingly Intricate

It is Friday. I wish I could go tonight but I am seriously wiped out from this week. Maybe sometime in the next couple weeks though?

Because books.

Happy birthday, sara! Duff Goldman should make you a pool-shaped cake.

The weird hobbit shoes look hot, though. Give me bare feet or give me flip-flops.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Well, it appears that my mom didn't have a ministroke yesterdat, but that she has definitely had some on the past.

Tests are still being done today to ascertain whatever it is that they ascertain -- flow? flux capacitor intake? whale song?

She is bitching a storm because she wants to get out of the hospital NOW PRONTO NOW and my sister was all like "Fine. Don't cry to me when you end up DED" which kinda shut her up for a bit.

I just checked out their calendar, and it doesn't look like they have it there again until next Saturday. But karaoke much closer to home is awesome!

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

~ma for your mom, Erin.

My understanding is NSM. S has no problem with them in Dallas in the summer. They're kinda meshy on the top. Barefoot is unreasonable downtown (where we work, but probably other places too), and some people can't wear flip-flops.

I don't know how I suddenly became a hobbit shoe shill.

Oh, I know, Daisy. I just don't like any shoe that I have to put my whole foot in unless it's 30 degrees and snowing, usually.

I hope your mom's okay, Erin. Much ~ma for her.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Vibing hard for your mom, Erin!

And, CRAP. I just missed a doctor's appointment, which I remembered because of Erin's post. I had it on my calender, even, but my boss called me at 9:15am flapping about this goddamned journal that I can't wait to finally be done with, how the covers are all wrongity wrong wrong - where did the incorrect masthead come from? I don't know, someone changed it, but who? why? when? fuck it, just fix it - and she rattled my brains, as she does so well, so all I could think about was fixing this mess, and what should have taken 15 minutes has taken three fucking hours because the software will not cooperate, and holy crap, I want to bang my head on the floor. So now I'm probably going to have to pay for the visit I missed, which just double sucks.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe if I worked anywhere with a dress code. Our office's dress code is that you have to be wearing clothes.

Yeah, me too.

And I have hobbit feet! I have two pair of them. When I'm not wearing hobbit feet (which I mostly save for times when I'll be doing a lot of walking), I wear the Vivo Barefoots. Except for right now, when I'm wearing super cheap close-out section flip flops from Target. (I have two pair of those. They meet my minimalist footwear needs, and were under $1.25 each.)

So, apparently my mom DID have a couple of ministrokes in the past.

She is just waiting for results to come back from this morning's MRI to see what's what...and is biting at the walls to get out of the hospital. Not only do I hope she is released today because the tests come back ok, but also because of the poor staff -- hospitals ma...ke her batshit crazy-anxious
