Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

This morning we had one of those spills that ties up traffic - a truck full of used grease/oil from restaurants turned over and spilled its entire contents across about four blocks of U Street, which gets a lot of crosstown traffic. They had the street blocked off, called in the sand trucks to sand down the mess, called the hazmat teams to see if they had any advice for dealing with it. bleah

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Yay Bob!

OK, so reading through the whole Belinda saga, I found two moments of true fear. One was that picture Matt linked to--that image will haunt my dreams. The other?

I am now brainwormed with Dean/Belinda.

Dear Lordy, I hope that image never truly materializes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

called the hazmat teams to see if they had any advice for dealing with it.

French fries and giant magnifying lenses?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I can consider this last-minute enough for Sunday, then. Heh.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Oh heck. I just found out that one of the folks I spent Sunday with has N1H1. I didn't know that was still making the rounds. I'm feeling ok, but now I'm second guessing myself. Crazy, I know.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Great. Now I'm going to ship Delinda.

Compassionately intolerant

Suzi, get thee to a peroxide soaked qtip! Swab your ears a couple of times a day. And, if you have one, use a neti pot/bottle to clear out your sinuses.

The germs incubate in your mucous membranes. Swab them out and you have a less likely chance of coming down with the virus and a greater chance of suffering less if you do get it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

ita just had to go there.

I am on a Groupon hiatus too, and yet I bought both the Chicago and the Milwaukee ones today. I am not very good at hiatusing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

...and now I have Priceline remorse. I should have gone cheaper! And the place I got is on the wrong end of the neighborhood. Eh. No big whoop, really.

So they've implemented electric load reduction here at work. Whee?
