I am pretty sure she was just The Thing while she was here. When we saw JZ walking up to the manicure place Juluana and I looked at each other and said "is that The Thing". "I think that's The Thing". Emily thought we were nuts. Then she shrieked, just a little.

It's actually been too cold in our offices all day, which I can't stand. There's an ongoing battle of the thermostat in our office.
My desk is directly below a vent, so I keep a fleece jacket available. I'm wearing it right now.
Yay, Bob!
There's a Pie Lady?! Lee, does Dean know about this?!
Mmm. Dean.
Nicole named her, if I remember correctly.
Nuh-uh! I'm not that clever.
She told me her name was Belinda.
Also, Suzi, the Denver Groupon today is a good one. DH and I have taken his parents to The Red Trolley and I think you'd like it.
Suzi, I did write to you with my Denver plans - from my work email, I think.
I have two unrelated questions, each related to travel:
- Has anyone ever brought a Samsonite suitcase back for repair? I have no idea if it's under warranty, but the store is convenient, so it seems worth a shot.
- I should wait until the last minute to Priceline a hotel room, right? Or could I end up screwing myself?
Sparky in Denver? Very cool!
I've gone with Priceline at about the two week countdown mark and had great results. I think it depends on area and how many rooms those hotels normally put aside as discount rooms.
Oh, Sparky! Found it. Will check the calendar when I get home.
I am putting myself on a Groupon hiatus. I have purchased more than I have used. I need to use the ones I have before I buy more.
Jesse - sometimes it is worth it to wait for the last minute to Priceline, but you have to be willing to pay the regular rate just in case. I usually start trying rates a while before my trip, so I have time to play with different rates/star levels.
This morning we had one of those spills that ties up traffic - a truck full of used grease/oil from restaurants turned over and spilled its entire contents across about four blocks of U Street, which gets a lot of crosstown traffic. They had the street blocked off, called in the sand trucks to sand down the mess, called the hazmat teams to see if they had any advice for dealing with it. bleah
