"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

OK, this weather is getting crazier. According to all the weather sites I've checked, Salem is now 100 degrees, but Boston is back down into the low 90s. Minor difference, but Salem is farther north and even more coastal, so it's usually 3-7 degrees cooler than Boston, like, just about always. Is this hellish weather moving north?

I feel compelled to say there's no particular evidence that Hilter was an atheist. From what I've researched his theology was pretty whack, making it hard to classify as any particular thing. But, the argument that was made to me was that he had to be an atheist in order to be capable of what he did.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Certainly, I've heard the argument (to me personally) made that Hitler was an atheist and therefore all atheists become evil if they don't start believing. But it's like making that argument to prove there aren't any atheists, it just doesn't make sense.

I've mostly heard "Hitler/Stalin was an athiest" in response to "all evil in the world ever was caused by religion".

Because there was never any such thing as the Inquisition or witch trials @@.

"all evil in the world ever was caused by religion"

Well, that's a pretty ridiculous argument to make as well. Has evil been caused by religion? Yes. All the evil ever? Probably not.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unless you believe that "evil" is a construct of religion!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

All the evil in the world ever was caused by people. I say we put the dolphins in charge for a while.

(which I don't. I'm just saying.)

It gets mentioned without being a response too. Saying all evil is attributable to religion is eyerolly BS too.
