"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Marmite is an umami flavor

Oh! I was just looking at the most recent issue of Cook's Illustrated and their recipe for beef stew had a long digression on glutamates and they ultimately decided that the best way to plump up the flavor of the stew was with a bit of smushed up sardines.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Actually, megan took BART and then a cab to java's house.

Yeah, not really near BART.

Good lord, woman, you defend your inertia like it was a national treasure.

You realize this is roughly equivalent to: "She bravely put on her inside pants and resolutely did not go out."

Contemplates possible responses.

Do you really want to play this game?

Yep, and there's nothing wrong with that if that's the right thing for you to do at the time.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Actually, megan took BART and then a cab to java's house.

Was the pneumatic tubeway closed for repairs? I hear toddlers get stuck in it all the time.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had a nice brunch with my extended family (I ate a delicious skillet breakfast -- eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, sausage, cheese, all cooked in perfect-size cast iron skillet), then did some shopping (victorious re: jeans). Now I am chillaxing, and later I have a date.
