If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

and the proof of this was it was not in copyright.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A student asked for books on biblical texts, and explained he was having an argument with a friend who insisted that the King James Bible was the only religiously correct version in English of the bible, and the proof of this was it was not in copyright.

??!?!!?

information libertarian

Fascinatingly, it IS under copyright, in the UK at least, until 2039 - only certain publishers can print it. See the start of this entry: [link]

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

and the proof of this was it was not in copyright

Ooh, does this mean all public domain books are fair game for being religious source texts? I'm gonna form a religion based on the works of Jane Austen - who's with me?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I thought it was already a religion!

I don't know any woman that doesn't worship Elizabeth Bennett.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

A friend's mother apparently recently suggested to her that she "get one of those Haiti babies."

Is her mother's name Edina?

Now tagless for your comfort.

*hugs buffistas tightly*

Don't ever leave me.

I have reserved a rental car for the weekend. The dealer's service desk said he called around town and that there were no parts to be had--but we have priority on the ones they get from GM. He said aftermarket parts weren't an option for this particular part so we wait.

He didn't have a loaner available but offered to rent me a vehicle for twice what I could rent one through AAA. @@

I didn't realize how much running around I do until I didn't have wheels.
