Doctor who created MMR vaccine scare could lose his license
Britain's General Medical Council has ruled that Andrew Wakefield—the doctor who created the MMR vaccine/autism scare by heavily promoting the results of his own poorly conducted research, even long after other scientists had proven his claims to be wrong—"failed in his duties as a responsible consultant". The Council will decide at a later date whether Wakefield will be stripped of his medical license.
Yay.
Someone remind me that engaging in arguments on faith and abortion or worse - both - on the intenets is a bad, bad, bad idea and leads to the pulling of hair and rending of clothes in the name of a losing battle.
Don't do it, Aims! Think of your clothes and/or hair!
But ...
But ...
BUT!!!!
PEOPLE ARE WRONG ON THE INTERNETS!!
Maybe I'll just eat my lunch.
Somewhere, a computer is making Windows noises. Like the kind of noises you get with downloads and errors and stuff. I can't tell if it's mine. This is worrying.
It's totally that Tebow guy's fault. And CBS'. And this chick who called a friend of mine a band-wagon jumping liberal bigot.
Yeah, that hit Livejournal this morning. The general response is "Really? You think that's a good idea?"
LFN is sort of like Die Hard. It was a perfect new pop culture template and you could redo it multiple times. BtVS is sort of like that too - everything from Charmed to Danny Phantom (cartoon) modeled themselves closely on it.
But LFN had some great knockoffs in HK (the Black Cat movies) and Japan too.
