"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

LFN is sort of like Die Hard. It was a perfect new pop culture template and you could redo it multiple times. BtVS is sort of like that too - everything from Charmed to Danny Phantom (cartoon) modeled themselves closely on it.

But LFN had some great knockoffs in HK (the Black Cat movies) and Japan too.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think the question is if they're remaking the TV series or if they're making another series off the movie. Either way, they initially seem a little dark for the CW, but they have been wringing a fair amount of angst out of the Winchester brothers. Interspersed with a lot of buffoonery and some good comedy, though, which doesn't have a place in either Nikita universe.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The important thing is their commitment to Anne Parillaud's haircut.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

According to ONTD, the reboot will feature an assassin who goes after Nikita when she goes rogue.

That sounds a bit Bourne-ish. Which is okay - it's been the most influential spy series of the last 20 years.

The IO9 report barely goes into details (as it shouldn't, since it's not sci fi), but it looks barely like a Nikita series. It's about a Nikita replacement.

I'm fine with a Girl!Bourne action series.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

And this chick who called a friend of mine a band-wagon jumping liberal bigot.

Bigoted against Christianity, or something inane like that? Oy. Breathe deep, walk away.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Bigoted against Christianity, or something inane like that?

Now tagless for your comfort.

People are wrong all over the internet today! My favorite is the people who keep harping on Obama's use of the teleprompter as the secret to his eloquence. I'm not sure they realize Bush used one but just had difficulty reading it.
