Joyce: You don't think it's too obvious? I think I look like I have a cat on my head. Buffy: But a very well groomed cat. Joyce: Well that's a comfort.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's the path of least resistance, what with the citizenship and all.

No citizenship for me, but I do own a house. Well, a cabin. Well, 1/48th of a cabin. That's not winterized.

But still.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My (somewhat more realistic) fantasy is to get a sailboat. Then if things get really bad here I can flee to Canada in it.

Oh, I also have a sailboat! That's totally unsuitable for long-distance sailing and also currently at the wrong end of the Hudson.

Man, I'm not very good at this.

Just to be clear, I don't have any expectation that I should have access to everything merely because I am me. Was just curious. And fake-pouty about the video clips.

Oh, I know! Sorry about that, I was trying to mock myself but I was in a rush. I have definitely pouted myself. They started doing the IP checks right as they were posting the old Last Chance to See audios online, and my reaction was "But, but, but... I know it makes sense, and yet: wah!"

Coding and Sleeping

Why the fuck didn't he fight for it? Why not get out front from the beginning and constantly explain in press conferences and speeches why the health care plan he favored was a great thing?

There's still plenty I'm not happy about, and now things are only going to get worse with the mid-terms coming up and unrestricted corporate spending.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I could own a truck stop in the spitwad town my mother left at 18!

[link]

I'd be able to visit all my dead people! (Look, I've spent a LOT of time in the cemetary there. And in the one up the road that's all overgrown out near the homestead.) And only 20 minutes to all my live people! It'd be awesome!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Tom and I suspect they would turn us away for our large and in charge BMIs.

They do that? Wankers.

Related-ish to BMI, just last night, a group of women I know (locally) who are all in my size range decided to organize a clothing swap/lending scheme.

This is cool! I can almost never borrow clothes from people!

(Also, it wasn't until Dr. Horrible that I finally started liking him. Something about being willing to be a dork and sing even though he's not the world's best singer. [Although that didn't work on me for Felicia Day. She still makes me go MEH.])

Have you watched The Guild? Because, wow. I've totally got her picture up on the door of my mental locker.

I was mildly upset when my office stopped routing all our internet traffic through London because it meant we couldn't watch BBC iPlayer anymore. OTOH, we now have access to Hulu so I suppose it's a fair trade.

Yeah.

In a broad sense, I just think we're an empire in decline, and probably at this point further decline is inevitable.
