I think that first one is Oz. And Heather, I don't know I've ever seen you with your hair up. You rock it.
Thanks! The wind was insane today, so I fear the hair looked crazy.
Boo! FB tells me the Lucky photos are unavailable. But, Daisy Jane, you and your DH are my heroes. Bless him for his bravery and you for your enthusiastic care-giving. Lucky is, indeed.
I don't know what possessed me, but I just stuck my arm out and made a fist and then yelled "NO!" like some kind of demon. The dog stopped dead in his tracks and went back to his yard.
Steph, you did the exact right thing. Claiming your space is all a dog usually needs to back off. Good one! And you are absolutely right about running. Some folks think stuff like 'don't show fear', the truth is, don't act like prey and you won't spark that instinct to kick in.
Good on ya both!
Aw, Lucky Dog is lucky and cute!
I had some of that Mountan Dew throwback a couple weeks ago, it was really good.
Speaking of doggies, Jasmine continues to mellow in surprising ways-- we had workmen here all day and rather than have all of the dogs go into barking, "OMG, peoples who are not ours in Our House!" mode every time they had to walk through the house, I just closed myself away with them in my office. However, towards the end of the day they got out of the office and headed into the kitchen and after the first minute or so of predictable "OMG, peoples! Love me!" bounding and wiggling, she came over to me and sat by my feet.
I was so proud of her.
We're hanging in the room for tonight I think. The boys aren't ready to be alone together and everyone is exhausted.
We're thinking anti-anxiety meds for both tomorrow and bathroom for Lucky and crate for Oz.
Thanks for the kind words. Apparently loose dogs are rampant in that area and often don't make it.
Ha! Pizza lady just got to hear the dog story!
Tomorrow is our karate tournament. CJ is competing in sparring, forms, weapons and as part of our demo team. I'm just doing sparring and forms. We will be there from 8am to about 5pm. Oh, and there is a 2 hour seminar with 2 of the Masters. Last year we learned some fancy knife and extremity (arms/legs) techniques. Who knows what we will get this year.
Sunday, the boy and I are going to the farmer's market, book store, and then the new Japanese place.
Beyond that - lots of sleep. My stooopid thyroid is messed up again and my iron levels are lower than my usual low.
I was trying to continue my channeling of msbelle and have now realized that the reason I might not have used that Indian simmer sauce in ages is that it's not om nom nom. It'll do for dinner but I suspect that the leftovers will not be saved. I did use up the last of a box of couscous though. Still, I think it's an overall fail.
DJ, you and Jon rock.
I ate dinner, gave myself a pass on getting anything productive done this evening after working until 7 and then going to the gym, and watched Robert Downey Jr.'s appearance on Craig Ferguson. Robert Downey Jr. makes everything better.
