I'm afraid I just spooked Pooch. Went to water my herbs and a cat looking a lot like him shot like hell from my plot. I'm guessing he was smelling the luscious litter-filled trashcan. Sorry, Pooch!

Damon is my favorite when he has his shirt off.
Otherwise it's Alaric or
Isobel
Perkins, you should whitefont that last favourite name...
Really? Okay.
Well, it's not clear she's even alive until far into the season.
I enjoy your last favorite as well, Perkins. Although I still get her mixed up with her character on the L Word.
Huh. Problem of a first-year show is that it's all current season. THEY NEED A SECOND SEASON !
For Wire fans: in season 1, I recall some mention of Bunk being a lacrosse player, and that was somehow remarkable. I dunno, lacrosse is something I only encountered here in MD, and in the halls of JHU.
Tonight, when I walked to the Y, there was a police paddy-van parked on the field and a lacrosse game going on, maybe 12-15 year olds. One of the coaches for the local lacrosse team is an af-am cop, I've seen him out there before. He was there in full uniform, beating his knee with his hat. Unfortunately, game ended before I was out of the pool, don't know if "my" (=local) team won. But it made me think of The Wire, and how maybe it's more universal than I've been lead to believe. Anyway. Just seemed so Baltimore.
I LOVE that they are using the field for youth sports. I prefer that to more buildings.
My brother played lacrosse when we lived in Maryland, and it didn't exist when we moved to Virginia. It's a shame, he was good enough to walk on to the Rutgers team, he probably could have gotten a scholarship if he'd played his senior year.
I just love seeing all the kids out there, you know? Especially when the 7ish crowd is practicing. They are such the adorable disaster. Just like soccer was when I was a kid.
And the coaches are freaking adorable.
