I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Man, uncle G as babysitter for mac afterschool is like THE BEST THING EVER! homework was done, dishes were washed, library books picked up, playing was going on, and he apologized for not starting dinner! Glorious. So I am going to talk to mac's normal babysitter and have her sit him at the kitchen table for homework time and have her wash whatever dishes are in the sink while he does the work. Such a simple thing, why had I not thought of it before?

Food report: Mac ate stuff from the fridge, but did polish off the last of a package of pepperoni, so that is good. I had half of the last can of the Indian food - the other half will be lunch one day this week - over rice. We both had slices of the Hummingbird cake for dessert and proclaim it yummy. I am sure it is more moist with the cream cheese frosting, even so, very good. Next time I might double the amount of crushed pineapple, because I would like more of that flavor.

I've dished up stuff for 2 more lunches this week, and I've got 2 chicken breasts in the oven that were in the freezer. They had marinated in some Italian dressing and I coated them with a little brown spicy mustard.

Yeah, I walk 30 minutes to work and I wear sneakers. My feet and back are just too important to care.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm still working on getting past my family programming of "beauty knows no pain."

Yeah, I still haven't gotten used to this whole California no-hose thing, and it's unlikely I ever will, because I hate wearing heels barefoot.

No way. Work = heels.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My first job in Cali's dress code mandated hose. They eventually loosened it up, but I didn't take advantage of it.

I doubt I'll go without hose at this office--too cold. Don't care that it's California.

Not that I wear heels often.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I don't feel right wearing a dress or skirt without tights or nylons. I will every once in a while if I am wearing tall boots, but not very often, because it just feels off.

information libertarian

One of the great advantages of being a librarian is that Danskos are appropriate in pretty much every situation.

ION, looking at some photos of men I knew in college on Facebook, so many of them have that fat neck thing going on. My husband kinda has it too. Is this an inevitable part of being a 40-year old man? mr. flea isn't fat, though he could stand to be more fit. But the neck bloat. What is that about?

I love no hose! But not with pumps. Just sandals. I wonder if sandals are OK. It seems like a pretty well-dressed office.
