Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm still working on getting past my family programming of "beauty knows no pain."

Yeah, I still haven't gotten used to this whole California no-hose thing, and it's unlikely I ever will, because I hate wearing heels barefoot.

No way. Work = heels.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My first job in Cali's dress code mandated hose. They eventually loosened it up, but I didn't take advantage of it.

I doubt I'll go without hose at this office--too cold. Don't care that it's California.

Not that I wear heels often.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I don't feel right wearing a dress or skirt without tights or nylons. I will every once in a while if I am wearing tall boots, but not very often, because it just feels off.

information libertarian

One of the great advantages of being a librarian is that Danskos are appropriate in pretty much every situation.

ION, looking at some photos of men I knew in college on Facebook, so many of them have that fat neck thing going on. My husband kinda has it too. Is this an inevitable part of being a 40-year old man? mr. flea isn't fat, though he could stand to be more fit. But the neck bloat. What is that about?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I love no hose! But not with pumps. Just sandals. I wonder if sandals are OK. It seems like a pretty well-dressed office.

hip deep in pie

Jesse, I have several pairs of sneaker-y shoes that look perfectly respectable with skirts and dresses that are also comfortable enough for my 50 minute walk home. Like this: [link] Or this: [link]

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I highly recommend Softwalk loafers for commuting shoes. Also the Reebok/Puma/whatnot lifestyle type shoes. The perfect ones for me were the Reebok Nautical Mile style (now discontinued), lower profile than sneakers, but super comfy.
