Oooh, the changing shoes at work person, Jesse! Just make sure you don't become the "wearing white sneakers with your black skirt and hose" person. Because that person is WRONG.

They settled the Frazetta assets issues last week, Ginger, so at least that's not hanging over the estate.

I would NEVER become that person! I don't even wear white sneakers ever. I'm thinking I can make it work until it's actually warm out, and then I can wear my new Comfort Sandals for commuting.
Frank never had anything to do with the business side, so it's no wonder things were a tangle without Ellie. True story: A fan was babysitting some of his kids at a con, and they were looking at books for sale. One kid was pointing out different sword-and-sorcery covers and saying, "He ripped off my dad and he ripped off my dad." The fan said something like "Well, your father has made his work cost so much that publishers using other artists." An 8-year-old voice piped up, "Oh, Daddy didn't make it cost so much. Mommy did."
OK, the cats and I totally got bitched out by a mob of starlings.
Bad news is I discovered why: there's a nest in the neighbor's downspout. Nearly fledged, but not yet ready to fly. I have NO IDEA how they survived some of the storms we've recently had. Maybe the water flows under the nest.
Maybe the water flows under the nest.
It's the Fallingwater of birds' nests.
Jesse, I wear my Croc flip flops to work and change into heels. Winter is boots.
Yeah, my problem is that I want to wear boots at work, and carrying boots seems excessive. Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to wear the new Erin shoes, because I think they will be comfortable with tights and bandaids. (The first time I wore them, I had bare feet, and got a little tore up...)
I would also like to note that it is RIDICULOUSLY cold here, again. For MAY. I mean seriously.
Zen, I am so glad Leo is OK! Now, are YOU drinking or is LEO drinking?!?
I wear danksos to work, and then change if they do not match my outfit (My dansko's are orange and red). The other day I forgot, and I though I was going to die in my heels with the bus and the walking. But today, wearing my Danskos I fell TWICE! Once in the middle of crossing the street! Luckily it was a little street, but I almost couldn't get up. For some reason, if I do not actively search the ground for dips and holes and such, my ankles twist in them and I am down on the ground. Very embarrassing. Also, a little scary that when I get old I will fall and break something.
Man, uncle G as babysitter for mac afterschool is like THE BEST THING EVER! homework was done, dishes were washed, library books picked up, playing was going on, and he apologized for not starting dinner! Glorious. So I am going to talk to mac's normal babysitter and have her sit him at the kitchen table for homework time and have her wash whatever dishes are in the sink while he does the work. Such a simple thing, why had I not thought of it before?
Food report: Mac ate stuff from the fridge, but did polish off the last of a package of pepperoni, so that is good. I had half of the last can of the Indian food - the other half will be lunch one day this week - over rice. We both had slices of the Hummingbird cake for dessert and proclaim it yummy. I am sure it is more moist with the cream cheese frosting, even so, very good. Next time I might double the amount of crushed pineapple, because I would like more of that flavor.
I've dished up stuff for 2 more lunches this week, and I've got 2 chicken breasts in the oven that were in the freezer. They had marinated in some Italian dressing and I coated them with a little brown spicy mustard.
