OMG, why is the first day so exhausting? It's not like I did anything!
May you have a big office, competant staff, and no firwalls!
Small office, no staff (not that report to me, really), but the team seems smart and competant, and I don't really know about firewalls yet, but I did check my yahoo mail, and that would be a typical thing to block, no? I don't know.
movers are moving stuff! MOVING DAY!!!!
OMG Nora and Tom!! I feel terrible that I'm not sending them off tonight, but couldn't make the timing make sense what with my need to go to bed like right now.
msbelle, this is a good site for finding recipes that use what you have: [link]
But we're qualmy about someone in the house overnight while we are a asleep. Weird, right? I think we're having a hard time adjusting because we hadn't planned on so much nursing, but I am not likely to say NO! because what if we need it later?
I can see the qualms conceptually, but think how awesome it would be to not have to be up in the middle of the night all the time! The night nurse is a classic.
Timelies all!
Started yesterday with the gigantic Mother's Day brunch at my brother's place. 13 adults and 6 kids. Then took Amtrak back to DC and met G's mom for dinner. Tired now.
I bailed. It's a family support organization (I'm on the fundraising committee), so they are very forgiving. I just feel guilty.
Thanks for the grading suggestions. Went with my more standard technique of grading based on the writing, but I admit, random grades do have a certain je ne sais quoi.
Anyhoo, done now. Yay! On to summer school...
Kat, I can understand the creeped factor about having a nurse in the house while you sleep, but I think it might be appealing to have a few night shift nurses, if only to help ensure a full night's sleep once in a while. I would think a couple weekend shifts would be good too, because I find weekends with two healthy kids exhausting!
Oh, and I took the shuttle bus home, which was great. Upside/downside health-wise, though: I have a mile walk to the shuttle, but that walk takes me by everything bad I might want to eat. Had a burrito for dinner tonight. I also may need to become a person who changes shoes at work.
Kat, can you interview night nurses? Or are they just randomly assigned?
Frank Frazetta died today.
I don't think he had a lot to live for. Strokes took away his ability to paint; Ellie died last year; and one son was very publicly (lawsuits, breaking into a museum with a backhoe [link] fighting his siblings for control of Frazetta's assets.
Oooh, the changing shoes at work person, Jesse! Just make sure you don't become the "wearing white sneakers with your black skirt and hose" person. Because that person is WRONG.
They settled the Frazetta assets issues last week, Ginger, so at least that's not hanging over the estate.
