Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That Heaven and Hell cake is so Saveur: looks delicious but also so very very complicated. But delicious. sigh.

I made a completely win brunch recipe today. It was a cheese strata: simply, fluffy, delicious.

In sadder news, tivo only taped the first hour of the Tenant/Stewart Hamlet. Buzz buzz.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I did not bother to correct them.

I was given a card at the end of dinner for Hey, You Appear To Have A Uterus Day and would have corrected the waitress but it was $6 off on future cheesy Mexican and my principles are shaky when future enchiladas are at stake.

I was wished a few "Happy mother's day if it applies" and I responded "I'll pass your good wishes on to my mother"

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The lady I bought my poncho from asked if I was a mother because she was giving discounts to mothers, and when I said no asked if I had pets. She then whispered that she didn't want the lady at the next booth, who carried the first lady's stuff in her shop, to realize how much cheaper she sold things for when she sold them direct, so she was tacking on discounts. I thought it was cute.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I really don't think this happens with dudes, does it?

Well the waitress was kinda unsure since it was just two women having dinner. I was going to hand the envelope back but then, hey, future enchiladas. And so I said thank you.

Not that I'm aware of. But to be fair, while Father's Day may be as big a deal within a family it isn't obsessed over in wider culture the way Mother's Day is.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

it isn't obsessed over in wider culture the way Mother's Day is.

Possibly because MD occurs over sweeps.
