What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

megan, someone at the book reading last night was actually named Megan Walker. It was confusing.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Maybe it was just me in disguise.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm pretty sure no one's ever wished me a happy Mother's Day.

But since I'm never going to remember when the British one is, I extend wishes to my mother on this one.

It must be March-ish, because I remember being in London for Spring Break and freaking out that I had forgotten, due to all the signs there.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It must be March-ish, because I remember being in London for Spring Break and freaking out that I had forgotten, due to all the signs there.

How panic-inducing! Every year I have a mini-freakout because of my mother's phantom birthday, April 20th. It's what her birth certificate says, so it's lightly lodged in my memory as something to celebrate.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I'm on the cusp between Baby Boomers and Gen X, and I'm not sure when my midlife crisis is supposed to be. Maybe I missed it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I think I had my midlife crisis when I was 22 and majoring in Actuarial Science. Long story, but I never ended up being an actuary.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I'm just saying, if my aunt gets a mother's day present because she has cats, I should, too! Of course, if she had done that, my eyes would have rolled out of my head.

Ah! I was misreading and wondering why you thought it was so bad that your aunt got a gift from her mom. My parents, when I lived down there, would usually do a small gift for my sister-in-law, my sister and me (because I was an awesome aunt) and I always thought it was sweet that they didn't want to exclude me.

I need food. Brain fail.

I got a cheery yellow watering can at Ace tonight. [link] I can water my pineapple sage and chocolate mint from the deck now (they are ~15 below)!

And it is so cheery!

Haven't seen any hanging baskets I like, but am thinking of planting at least one upsidedown tomato thingies from one of the hooks. Will have to talk to the tomato plant people at the FM next week.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm right on the border between Gen X and Millennial. So right now, I'm either cynical or optimistic. The Times had some article a few months ago listing the things that "old people" do that "young people" don't do, and I did almost all of the old people things -- I wear a watch, I usually call someone rather than text them unless I've got a specific reason why texting would be better, and a few other things that I can't remember right now.
