He was anti-roller coaster so there wasn't much point in taking him to the one in Santa Cruz. But peer pressure has gotten to him. I expect he'll probably enjoy it and become a fan. But Emmett's never had a problem forming strongly held opinions with no basis in personal experience.
I was anti roller-coaster at Emmett's age, got peer-pressured into finally going on one and I hated it. As soon as I felt well enough to stand once it was over, I clocked the guy who'd talked me into it in the head.
The death of Metra executive director Philip Pagano, struck by a Metra train this morning, "appears to be a suicide," the McHenry County coroner says.
That's, um, poetic.
Also seriously fucking jackholish, since he's well placed to understand how that just fucks the train operaters right up.
God, seriously. Ugh. I mean, sad. But ugh.
They're evacuating Times Square
Fucking what NOW?
Old Navy Shooting
I may never leave the house again. Is anyplace safe? /rhetorical
In re: rollercoasters, I am Jessica. Although I didn't hit the guy. I did tell my mom about him grabbing my boobs, though. I am a total wuss about rollercoasters. Even the little ones scare me.
They're evacuating Times Square. Here's hoping for an overreaction to nothing at all.
CNN is saying it's a "suspicious cooler" so I'm guessing it's probably nothing.

It's not my font's fault that looked like suspicious cooter, but I'm glad it seems trivial.
suspicious cooter
Giuliani chased all of those out of Times Square 15 years ago.
Where they will be playing my SO`s first orchestral composition!
Oh, wow! That's awesome.
Man, Burrell, your poor MiL! Hoping for radiation poisoning because that's the less bad choice. Health~ma for her, for sure.
Weekend plans: a bike ride pretty soon, then the rest of today and probably tomorrow tidying up, doing laundry, and getting DH's new dresser put together (and then getting our clothes all redistributed to take advantage of it). Sunday is a brunch cruise in the slough with my parents and the Mother's Day Artisan Fair down at Harbor Plaza (I think Harbor Square is the other place where the fair is not, it is confusing having every dang place in town named Harbor Something). Oh, and mowing the lawn, probably tomorrow. After DH fixes the weedeater. Maybe finishing the drip irrigation in the front flower beds if I am not too tuckered out by everything else.
I don't have strong feelings about rollercoasters. Old rickety ones scare me, but only if I stop to think about how much faith I am putting in someone else's maintenance.
