What is this instant click thing she's talking about?
Like being attracted to someone and wanting to know more about them and spend more time with them? I don't think it needs to mean knowing exactly what kind of relationship you'll want with that person just then, necessarily.

Just speaking for myself, if I don't feel some spark of attraction right away I'm almost never going to.
Granted, often enough I feel it and the other person clearly doesn't so I stick him in the friend pile, there for him to remain until the sun goes out (much to my dismay).
I don't think the click feeling is a great or universal thing, its just a thing.

Huh. Well I guess I've had that happen - and even had the other person feel the same way a few times... just not that often.
What they said, tommyrot. And go you on the date--hope it works out!!
I took a half-day pto to take my cat into the vet for a badly-needed claw trim (she was sticking to everything last night). There was an oh-so-adorable 3 month old dachsund/chihuahua mix there named Roxy--such a little cutiepie!!!
The second time I met Hubby, after the initial accidental meeting, was semi-accidental--Thanks for arranging that, Amy!--and as soon as we saw each other we started talking only to each other, and we were still talking six hours later. Though not at Amy's house, because she did eventually want to go to bed.

There you go! I think the same thing happens with people you become friends with to. At least to me it does. (w/out the sexual attraction part)
First time I met Lewis, we were still talking, fifteen hours later.
Twenty-one years later...
I think what bugs me is memories of previous experiences - when after one date the woman tells me she's not interested, and I was thinking, "But how could you know after only one date?"
I think I'm just wired a little differently than most people....
I'm tickled that its the Black folks who DON'T have neanderthal DNA
I bet the race mixing has taken care of much of that in America.
