Natter 65: Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft

Totally go to LA, Barb.
I may have a conference in Baltimore in September; unfortunately because of the yet-unfinalized reorganization (we are now into year three of this reorganization, people, in case you were keeping track), I don't know who to ask for permission to register. Because where I am will determine whose funds get spent on the trip.
Thing is, if I don't get to go I will be ROYALLY pissed; this conference is only held once every three years and I have a good chance of being on a panel. But I can't request to go yet, must wait until June, I'm told. Bah.
I bailed on visiting my parents tonight because I had a grumpy tummy so instead I'm watching WNTW and eating scrambled eggs.
ETA: Congratulations on the job Jesse!
I'm giving my mom me, since I'm going down to help them cull and pack before they move. If I don't disappear into the mess of their basement forever, I might take her out to breakfast, too.
Barb, come to LA and I'm saying that just to be selfish.
ita, I'm so sorry about the procedure. I was hoping for a magic bullet.
Jesse - WOOT WOOT WOOT WOOT! So excited for you.
Noah had a day of epic fail when it comes to potty training. I think he has realized that we are trying to wean him off M&Ms. So it's back to bribery.
Grace had an ENT appt and the bleeding is just irritation, not infection. However, the ENT thinks my daughter is so sweet and charming and he thinks it's time to do tracheal reconstruction and take the trache out. In June, if the pulmonologist will okay it. I'm not really believing it though.
GRRR.
Am in hotel room that apparently gets TWO stupid ESPNs, CNN, CNN Headline News, CNBC, but NOT the CW, so I can't watch America's Next Top Model!?!? GRR.
I feel like a bad daughter. I only send my mother a card.
I usually just call, so I am making up for the "not even a card" years.
ita, stupid pain, and stupid no solutions. Bah!
Barb, does the Children's Books have YA? If not, I don't quite understand how it would make sense for you to network there.

Whoot! I know you're not believing yet, but still pretty awesome.
Barb, come to LA! We want our Barb time.
And and and... my sister has an African Grey parrot. He's sweet.
That's amazing for Grace!!!
Well there are several hoops to go through first and we have to make sure that she use the PMV to prove she can breathe through nose and mouth. And she needs her lung functionality checked.
Sigh. We're going to have to deal with the brat factor (doctor's words not ours).

In the past, they'd always included YA as part of their tracks, but it seemed as if they really placed more emphasis on Middle Grade books and Picture Books. However, in the past several years, with the increased interest in the genre, they've started adding more and more YA tracks, so it's a much more balanced conference from that standpoint.
If the book was already out, I'd probably be going to RWA, because I'm a known quantity there and the book skews so close to the adult end of the spectrum, but in terms of making my name a little more "known" in YA circles, it might not be a bad idea.
Plus... LAistas!
