Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

If you write the story about uncopyrighted work does that make it not fic? Or is it intent or actuality of profit?

I've seen fic about the bible and about Alexander Hamilton. I think maybe the :fanfic" distinction is the intent to publish privately rather than through publishing houses? Not necessarily to make a profit.

Because the Democratic party is sofa king LAME.

They've still got a majority right?

I've heard talk that the people in MA who have to certify the vote and allow him to take his seat may drag his heels so the vote goes through before he gets to take his seat.

I got the annual assessment on my house today. The assessed value has gone up $15K or 8.5% in the past year. That's bananas! I've done almost nothing to add value.

The House and Senate bills are in conference right now, or really in a less formal process with just the Dems since there are not Republicans to work with.

One options is to rush to a compromise bill and try to pass that before the vote is certified. There's no guarantee that they'll get Liberman and Nelson if there are changes from the Senate version, however.

Another option is for the House to pass the Senate bill thus not requiring another vote in the Senate. The problem here is that the House bill has some real differences (and is significantly better IMO). There may be enough progressives to block passage on the Senate bill. I don't think Pelosi has the votes right now to do this.

A third option is to pass parts through budget reconciliation, but that will be slow and the last thing the dems want to do is drag out health-care reform even closer to the mid-terms.

The filibuster isn't really a threat it just is. Procedural rules require 60 votes to bring the bill to floor for debate and to close debate. They'd have to change the rules to get a vote. The GOP doesn't have to actually do anything but vote no on opening or closing debate.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

They've still got a majority right?

Yes, but not the filibuster-proof super-majority.

They've still got a majority right?

Yes, but in the Senate they need 60 votes in order to have a vote on a bill. That means they need to get at least GOP vote + Liberman to pass anything except some budget issues that don't require procedural votes. Since the GOP is blocking everything and voting in lockstep, it means there's little the democrats can do with a majority.

Um, Jesse, that is pretty weird, because the same thing happened with a coworker of mine and her daughter. Perhaps the ATL guy makes a practice of drinking with moms?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I really hate this country sometimes.

Me too. Maybe I can find some European woman who'll marry me so I can live there....

Reimagination of something that is no longer evolving, authors dead, characters set in stone... I dunno, I loved Wicked and Ahab's Wife, but they weren't well fleshed out characters in the original. No consistency, but I'm just not inclined to seek out contemporary versions of the same. Odd that. I guess literary alternates bother me less.

I'm really fried tonight.

I dunno, to be fair, they have nobody to work with on the GOP side which means to do anything they have to get 100% of the democrats + Liberman to do anything.

What they need to do now is bring out populist issues like financial reform and jobs bills and force procedural votes that'll make great campaign ads if the GOP doesn't let them get to a vote.
