The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Yikes, Jess! I hope that heals up quickly.

I am taking a break from organizing. Plastic storage bins are my new best friends.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I still have to launder linens and clean house and the SO is sick and there`s hockey tonight, but I am just lolling on the couch.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Mani/pedi today resulted in blue toes and opalescent fingers. I really like the opal color, but I'm so used to having bright colors on my fingers, it kinda feels nekkid.

No nap and no chores have happened. I should start thinking about dinner, but I don't wanna.

Really didn't need to be said twice.

Instead, I shall once again proclaim the NUMMY-ness of Trader Joe's Maple Leaf Cookies. Thanks, Nicole. Nom, nom, nom.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

K-Mart has OPI?

Love Maple Leaf cookies. Love. Dip them in coffee.

Ouch, Jessica. Will be more careful with my older polishes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

6 stitches, in and out in an hour, so not too bad. Hell on my typing, though.

Yikes! That's a pretty serious polish injury!

Insult to injury to Boston, this week is National Drinking Water week

Ha ha ha! I am boiling more water, and wishing I hadn't read the thing that said not to just use the water coming out of the tap for handwashing. Luckily, I spent the afternoon outside of the Bad Water Zone.

I'm getting the pig!

Wow, Jess. I'm glad you're ok. From now on I'll only open nail polish with thick gloves on.

As Suzi mentioned, the farmer's market was seriously lacking in veggies but I do have pretty nails (Bastille My Heart - OPI). And absolutely no gloves necessary when someone else is opening the polish bottle. Whew!

“Not dead yet!”

Seriously, there is nothing like copyediting to make you feel monumentally stupid. Especially after you discover that your CE is the author of the Everything Spanish Grammar book and is catching really stupid mistakes that I really should have caught earlier.

Am now feeling like complete loser for not catching errors in a language in which I'm fluent, but don't use daily.

Why, Universe, did you gift me with such a crazy perfectionist streak?

“Not dead yet!”

And holy cats, Jess. You need to stay away from murderous polish bottles.

I remember some kid in a high school Spanish class arguing with the teacher because he would have said X in his Spanish-speaking home. But, you know, it was like the equivalent of "Me and her ain't going to that party" or whatever -- stuff that's objectively wrong, but still the way actual people talk.
