Barb, not a one. My address is still the same, the one in my profile.
ARGH. I was afraid of that. My freakin' email has been SO unreliable lately in terms of sending and I can't tell you why.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, pandas, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Loki's got himself into the narrow windows, after a bug (I guess.) He's so big, he can't turn around in them, fallshas to jump down. OK, now he's spreadeagle on his hind legs covering one of them. It's rather funny.
China stripped of Olympic bronze medal in gymnastics from the 2000 Olympics, because one of their gymnasts was underage
I remember the same kind of drama after the summer olympics in 08.
Anyone watching Happy Town? (Amy Acker is in it.) I think it's one of the limited run mystery/thrillers like Harper's Island, and it's not too bad so far.
I'm planning on watching it, hoping it is Harper's Islandesque.

Yeah, but it was ruled then that they had enough documentation saying that they were sixteen, and so they were eligible, even though there was also a bunch of documentation saying they were fourteen. (The requirement is something like three forms of government-issued ID, which they were able to provide. There was lots of speculation that those IDs were forged, since there were a bunch of listings from earlier competitions where their birth dates were listed as 1994, not 1992.)

I assumed that this rescinded medal was from Beijing since there was so much chatter about the age of a couple of their gymnasts.
Listen, my last recruiter had no idea what salary I made at previous job. She knew my skillset and she priced me accordingly. Current company did not need to know they effectively gave me a 40% raise.
So much this. I was pretty careful about not stating my salary at my last job change, because when I took that initial job I was trying to break back in and felt reasonably sure I was being underpaid. The offer I got was considerably higher (though not 50%!). That was also the first one where I actually negotiated, because at my prior two or three positions I'd always felt like I screwed myself not having the confidence to do that.
And the thing is, anything more you get upfront is like compound interest. The extra 5k I got then is an extra 5k I get every year, and any new increases are based on that higher number. (Especially nice since a couple of years later we weren't getting raises at all.)
They started investigating the gymnast from the Sydney games again when she applied to be an official of some sort at the Beijing games, and the date of birth on the forms that she submitted with that application would have made her just 14 when she competed in Sydney.

Ditto.
