Angel: He is dead. Technically, he's undead. It's a zombie. Connor: What's a zombie? Angel: It's an undead thing. Connor: Like you? Angel: No, zombies are slow-moving, dimwitted things that crave human flesh. Connor: Like you. Angel: No! It's different. Trust me.

Thank you Aims! Also, my googling informs me the Common Loon is our national bird. Well, that or the Goose, I'm not sure.

Trust my rage

My grandparents had a cabin in the woods of Wisconsin and when visiting, at night, I would fall asleep listening to the loons. So cool.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Thanks to all of you, I have tracked down the black and white bird that I see a lot around here, and I think it's a black-billed magpie.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ooh, lucky! I love magpies.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Mercer, WI, claims to be the loon capital of the world. Which I find completely plausible.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Georgia's state bird is the brown thrasher, a nondescript brown bird that gets its name from thrashing about in leaves to find insects. Georgia also has a state game bird, the quail.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

From the story about fandom:

Yeah for star wars it’s definitely the light saber. The extent to which people wield these at conventions, weddings, premiers and jedi-themed bar mitzvahs clearly illustrates the symbolism of this weapon. It’s not a costume but it’s definitely a totem

made me laugh (jedi-themed bar mitzvahs?)
