My grandparents had a cabin in the woods of Wisconsin and when visiting, at night, I would fall asleep listening to the loons. So cool.
Thanks to all of you, I have tracked down the black and white bird that I see a lot around here, and I think it's a black-billed magpie.

Georgia's state bird is the brown thrasher, a nondescript brown bird that gets its name from thrashing about in leaves to find insects. Georgia also has a state game bird, the quail.
