Kathy, did you see the casting spoilers for the Sarah Jane Adventures I posed about it Spoilers Lite?
And since they're no longer doing each story in four half-hour segments, there's less need to have tons of filler of the Doctor and his companion(s) running here and there
Alternatively: there's not much time for world-building and exploration and suspense and surprise when you've got to wrap everything up in an hour.
One of the first things that bothered me about the new series was the one-hour format.
No, I don't venture over to the thread to save my eyes from shows I want to stay unspoiled for.
I'm just hoping we finally get to see Season 2 of SJA, let alone anything from Season 3.

I think my main problem with the classic series being so long was that Channel 11 here in Chicago played it as one episode at 11:00 pm on Sunday nights, so I'd be getting really tired by the time the show ended at 12:30.

My grandmother has at least 2 of these chairs: [link] in all white and I am planning on claiming them for my back patio. Thing is they are not really comfortable, so I also plan to make cushions for them. I found this awesome fabric site: [link] but woah! so expensive. So now I am searching for alternatives.

My mom has eleventy hundred of those chairs and I made some cushion covers for them out of vintage-y looking beach towels. For the actual cushion part, she picked up some cheapie cushions at Big Lots or something.

Ah. One of our stations had a similar schedule, except it was on Saturday nights, and I was a nightowl so I'd be up until 1 or 2 anyway.
Oh, good on DJ. I also found this: [link] which I am kinda in love with now. I could do the bottoms of the cushions in a matching green so that the print would stretch more. I mean, Monkey!, right?
